Hoplon, the Brazilian developers behind the upcoming free-to-play car-combat MOBA Heavy Metal Machines, is excited to announce that registration for the South America Cup tournament, hosted by ESL Play, is now open.

Hoplon has been inspired by their fellow countryman; a Brazilian single-seat racing champion and legend of the highest class, to create a new skin for the Black Lotus – a character in Heavy Metal Machines. The racing car has new red and white bodywork to represent the symbolic car driven by one of the greatest competitive drivers of all time. The new Black Lotus skin will be available for a limited time only – September 21st through October 31st– for US $2.99 in the in-game store.
“After a successful European Championship, the South America Cup is another opportunity for players to get their hands on a piece of the prize. With each tournament Heavy Metal Machines delves further into the esports scene, as for the new skin, it fits well on the Black Lotus, paying homage to one of the greatest high-speed racing drivers Brazil has ever seen.” – Tatiana Moreira, Head of Marketing and Publishing.
Currently in open beta, Heavy Metal Machines is filled with intuitive fast-paced action, team play elements, unique MOBA gameplay and a heavy metal soundtrack. Aspiring esports players and current professionals from around the world can play on the South American servers. Over the summer Hoplon released a number of updates that saw the introduction of leaderboards, bomb updates and a new map, so that the game was ready for competitive play.
