THQ Nordic officially announces Darksiders III

Following the trends of game announcements this year, it seems the most popular way of announcing a game is after a major leak has hit the internet as THQ Nordic has just a day later, announced that Darksiders III is officially in production for a 2018 release.

The title will be released for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. No news of a Nintendo Switch version as of yet, or anything regarding Playstation 4 Pro or Microsoft’s upcoming Scorpio console.

You’ll play as Fury, a mage who relies on her whip and some magic to right the balance between good and evil. You’ll explore a huge open world and change into various forms that grant her new abilities and weapons. Encounter physical forms of the Seven Deadly Sins in a world that takes place at roughly the same time as Darksiders 2. While previous games have had you play as War and Death, the remaining members left are Fury and Strife, so either Strife will make an appearance here, or Darksiders 4 will star the only remaining Horseman.

While Joe Mad isn’t officially attached to the project since he is hard at work on Battlechasers, the game is being made by much of the original team as Darksiders 1 and 2 and looks to keep the same basic art style going. This new team is now called Gunfire Games and honestly, the game looks to be in good hands.

Now I just have to cross my fingers that Amazon leaks Brute Force 2, please oh please…

If that isn’t enough, check out the awesome teaser trailer that IGN posted just this morning.
