‘Monkey King: Hero’ Is Back the Game Coming to the West for PlayStation 4

Oasis Games Ltd, a leading global game publisher, with Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia and October Media Group announced they will be releasing the action game: Monkey King: Hero Is Back the Game for PlayStation®4 during Sony’s ChinaJoy 2017 press conference. Based on the hit movie of the same title, the highest grossing film in the history of China at its release, the game is being developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia and Hexa Drive, with Oasis Games publishing the game worldwide.

The Monkey King is a mythological figure prevalent in Chinese literature, appearing in a wide body of legends dating back to the Sony dynasty. In the film, the all-powerful Monkey King is imprisoned by the Gods for 500 years. When a child releases him from his curse, the Monkey King must save an innocent village from the evil Mountain Lord and his monstrous army. In the game, players will be able to play as Monkey King or the young monk in training, Jiang Lieur, and experience the story of the movie alongside new chapters and enemies, as well as new levels that are unique to the game.

“Monkey King: Hero Is Back the Game combines the global popularity of the Monkey King character and film with a visually rich and compelling monster-slaying interactive experience on PlayStation 4.  With the oversight of October Media for the project and the development prowess of Hexa Drive and Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia, we have the perfect team to deliver an outstanding game for action fans.” – Alen Wu, Business Director at Oasis Games.

Co-presented by Oasis Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia, developed by Hexa Drive, Monkey King: Hero Is Back the Game will be released for PlayStation®4. This game has not yet been rated by the ESRB.
