E3 2017 – Nintendo Shows Off More Super Mario Odyssey.

When Nintendo first announced their next open world Mario title, it was with a few sneak peaks of everyone’s favorite plumber running around a bustling city. However, this drew a bit of apprehension from a fair bit of fans who couldn’t get past the strangeness of the cute cartoon-y Mario speeding along next to more realistically proportioned people. To be honest, I was a little thrown off myself but resolved to hold my judgment until I saw a bit more of the game as a whole. Was I ever not disappointed.

Not only did they show us more than a realistic city adventure, Nintendo showed us a veritable galaxy of worlds to play and explore. The visuals are bright and cheerful and they added a new element of gameplay that is nothing short of crafty and I am sure we are all itching to try it out! Who doesn’t want to play as an enormous T-rex with a mustache and Mario hat? Super Mario Odyssey will see Mario utilizing a power that allows him to temporarily take over NPC’s as well as enemies in order to solve puzzles and get past insurmountable odds.

To coincide with the release of the game, we will be getting three Super Mario Odyssey Amiibos to add to our collections. There will be Mario, Bowser, and Peach dressed in their white wedding themed suits shown in the video. Not too much was shown on how these will interact with the game itself, or how our collection of existing Amiibo characters will work as well.

As always, Nintendo doesn’t fail to impress by breathing new life into their iconic franchises. Super Mario Odyssey is set to release for the Switch on October 27th.

For more E3 2017 coverage, keep checking back over the next few days!
